Veils, headbands, tiaras.... oh my!

I am wearing a long sparkly cathedral veil for the ceremony and pictures, then for reception I have a shorter low- back length veil

I have a veil for the ceremony I’ll remove for the reception, but I plan to keep the same headpiece. I have two options — a Pearl and rhinestone headband and a rhinestone clip. I’m going to take both to my hair trial and see which works best.

I'm still a long way til my day but I'm looking into some hair pieces!

I've never seen that done before! That's a very clever way to have your cake and eat it too! I know a lot of brides want the dramatic cathedral veil for the ceremony, but also want photos with a veil at their reception (first dance, cake cutting, etc.). Switching to a short veil allows you to get those photos without lugging around a huge cumbersome veil all night!

There are SO many fun options these days! And what you wear in your hair makes such a huge difference in the overall "look". Are you planning to wear a veil with the hairpiece? Or just the hairpiece alone?

These are my two options. (Second is silver, that’s just the example picture in rose gold.) I think the headband will work better, but the second matches my belt almost exactly.

I planned to take the veil off after the ceremony, but it was so light and effortless that I ended up leaving it on without even noticing. The veil was my something borrowed from one of my best friends.

I have hair pins that match the beading on my sleeves. I am going to stick 2-3 into my updo.

I found a millnery a couple hours away from me that designs hats that I was made aware from the bridal consultant that sold my dress. It is a pillbox hat that I can attach my Mothra-inspired butterfly veil to. I'm pretty impressed with her work.
