US Honeymoon Destinations on a Budget?

Where are some good honeymoon destinations on a budget in the US? We were planning on going to Europe next year but it's not in the budget yet. We plan on using just whatever we're gifted to take a honeymoon at the end of this year or in spring maybe. We have been gifted $500 so far by a few people and the wedding hasn't even happened yet. So we'll probably have around 2,000 and some gift cards to work with plus whatever we throw in as well. We are also in Louisville, ky so cheap flights or driving.

    I’m a Florida girl so I may be biased, but I’d recommend Miami - nice hotels, beautiful beaches for relaxing or beach activities (boat tours, parasailing, etc)., arts and culture (Wynwood area of town), and plenty of nightlife. I think you can find cheap flights and there are always deals on Groupon for activities in Miami.

    Gatlinburg is nice. I’m not sure how far it is from Louisville, but it shouldn’t be too bad of a drive.

    Agreed on Gatlinburg! It is right by Great Smoky Mountains NP, so it has beautiful views and there are so many options for activities. I don't think it is too bad price-wise especially in the off season.

    We've done Gatlinburg before. It's pretty but definitely a bit played out for me. Everyone in KY goes there any chance they get for a small vacation.
