Trying to gain weight

Alicia, on February 13, 2024 at 4:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3
Has anyone attempted weight gain before their wedding? Our wedding is a year away and i’m working to gain 30-35 lbs by the wedding in June of 2025…i haaaate being thin and am very underweight (85lbs) abd struggle to eat. So now im drinking 3 ensures daily with 2-3 meals, attempting to rebuild my appetite. and gain to a healthy weight. I do not want to be insecure in my wedding dress and i want to be curvy again…Has anyone experienced this and how should i prepare with buying a dress soon? Do i buy up one size only? I’ve no idea how dresses sizes work

I highly recommend speaking with your doctor and working with a dietician. You want to make sure you are gaining weight at the right pace, the right way. Working out, specifically, lifting weights, is a great way to increase your appetite and build muscle. However, you MUST be consuming enough calories and protein otherwise you can hurt yourself. Weight lifting can be a really rewarding and empowering hobby.

I would recommend asking advice from a doctor who is fit themselves, preferably someone who cross trains with weight lifting. You can tell who works out by the shape of their shoulders, their posture, and their calves. Weight training will give you muscle mass, muscle definition, and curves, but you may need additional help from a nutritionist or sports magazine to create a diet plan that appropriately feeds your muscles for gains. I suggest aiming to build and retain 5 lbs of muscle per year, as this is more realistic and safer than aiming for 30+ lbs. Think about it, doctors tend to ask you if you've had an unexpected recent weight gain or weight loss. Such changes often coincides with organ problems, hormonal imbalances, cholesterol, stress, and other issues. Best wishes finding what works for you.
