To pasta or not to pasta

Brittney, on October 28, 2020 at 9:54 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 25

Hi!

I found this post on Pinterest and I was wondering what you guys thought. Would you guys go with the usual steak, chicken or salmon route; or would you guys think pasta was filling/ "classy" enough? Of course it'll be different types (shrimp, chicken, sausage, etc.) including sides as well. If so, what kind of sides would you recommend with the pasta?

I think it all depends on the presentation and the taste 🙂

We had a pasta station at our wedding. It included penne pasta and tortellini with your choice of alfredo or vodka sauce. We also had mixed veggies, mashed potatoes, prime rib, turkey with gravy and salad. I love pasta. Sides that I think are good with pasta are garlic bread or rolls with butter, mozzarella sticks, salad and soup. If you were to do an alfredo pasta broccoli would taste delicious in it.

If I was going to go pasta, I would do salad and vegetables with it!! casa is already a start so I would choose green vegetables and/or salad.. Good luck to you I'm sure you will choose the best!!

We are supposed to have pasta. They light a Parmesan wheel on fire and cook the pasta in it in front of each table. But because of covid we now might not be able to have this.

Being vegetarian, salad and pasta would be perfect! Haha I think you’re fine on whatever way you go.

It would be served right after salad, right before the main entrées and it’s about 20 bucks per person. They like the center with Grappa, an Italian wine. Italian, Greek and Armenian-Americans, haha so you know there is going to be a lot of eaters. I’m sure this probably sounds too much food to normal people. That’s because it is too much food for normal people. lol

Pasta in any form is perfectly acceptable. Personally I would rather have food that tastes good and not care what it looks like than to have super fancy food that no one will touch. Food is one of the big things guests remember as being good or bad, so always go for the taste factor over fancy presentation everytime.

I think pasta is fine but maybe not just pasta.

Personally I think a few types of pasta (without other foods) would be a little bit insufficient if it were a big wedding that went for a prolonged period, but with a few salads and proteins would be fab!

Pasta being a starch is super filling.
It doesn't need a side if you have mix-ins. But definitely serve a salad, whether that's Caesar, Greek, Garden, etc.

We almost did pasta for our reception, but my 8 year old son expressed he preferred the other meal option instead and for it being the same price we actually get more food with our other option.
I believe we decided to have pasta for rehearsal dinner instead.

I think a pasta bar is great but I’d serve some proteins for guests who don’t want pasta, or need some protein with their carbs (diabetics, gluten-free and keto eaters can’t do pasta). Chicken piccata and meatballs or sausage would probably be good.
