To confetti or not to confetti

Shelley, on June 25, 2019 at 4:03 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 7
I love the idea of a confetti toss after we’re pronounced husband and wife. I think the photos would be amazing! We’re getting married outside and our venue only allows for “natural confetti” such has flower petals or leaves. Seems like a lot to put together for how many guests were expecting. Would it be ridiculous to just give our wedding party something to toss at our first kiss? I’d also hate to put together confetti packs for all our guests only to have us be rained out and not be able to use them inside at all

We are hoping for an outside ceremony, but I refuse to put effort or money into anything that can only be used exclusively outside. I just can't imagine buying things to just toss them in the trash if it's too cold or rainy. Flower confetti is also fairly expensive.

Giving your wedding party the confetti seems like a happy medium Smiley smile If you have to move inside would the venue allow you to do it if you pinky promise you (or someone) will clean up really well? haha

Use a hole puncher to punch holes out of different leaves?? Might be a fun girls night or something?

I think the leaves might turn brown, but the hole puncher is a great idea!

I don't think it's ridiculous to have just the wedding party do it. I think that's probably efficient because they stand closest to you and could toss more, up higher, and it'd get a better shot.

Daughter and SIL's photographer took a couple different pictures where he just had the wedding party surrounding them and throwing petals. (The petals lined the aisle for the ceremony; afterward, during pictures, the photographer just had members of the wedding party grab handfuls, then had them form a path for the B& G and on his count everyone tossed their petals.) He did another photo in a different location (inside the building) where he had the wedding party PRETEND like they were throwing petals, then, when editing, he added the petals to the shot, digitally. Both photos are cute, and were no extra cost or work.
