Help! I am planning the wedding myself and I am so overwhelmed! We live in Brooklyn and want to host our wedding in either Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Queens. Originally, we didn't want to spend more than $15k for the whole day, but we are learning quickly that that is near impossible. Most venues we are looking at for the reception (restaurants mostly) are just starting at $15-20k! We have a big family, about 120 guests, so I had imagined that the food and drink costs would be expensive, but not this much! Is it even possible to plan a wedding in the city these days for under $20?
I am open to any and all suggestions!
P.S. We are artists, so we willing and able to DIY if it cuts costs. However, I am reading on other forums that DIYs are not always cheaper or easier. What would be everyones thoughts on this?
