So I am doing a spring wedding, I would kind of like to do a rustic themed wedding but I'm not too sure what colors I want I was thinking yellow and red and brown. But at the same time I kind of want to do something that's going to be more springtime oriented. Ideas ladies? Please help!! Tia.

All colors are acceptable and exist in nature year round. Browse “color palette” on Pinterest and see what you like best. Make sure you involve fiancé in the planning because it’s their party too

I've stressed to him that it's his big day to but he says that dreamweddings are more of a girl thing. I told him I'm still going to ask his opinion on things and got him to help me pick a palette. Themes 1

Every couple is different but that response is a red flag. Put planning on hold until you and he can compromise on an agreement of something he will provide input on. Otherwise you are essentially marrying yourself, and that mindset he has will continue into marriage and the decisions involving it: “I don’t have to do this or contribute to that as a man”. In 1800, that was the mindset of households everywhere. In 2024, 85% (allowing for populations with male dominated relationships due to religious beliefs, etc) of households see marriage as an equal partnership and how wedding planning is approached as practice for how it will be conducted.

At the very least, let him know he needs to have some input or the wedding can’t take place.

I don’t think it’s a red flag not to care about color palettes. If he’s not interested in any aspect of the wedding, yes, but colors are often chosen by the bride alone. My fiancé didn’t care at all about colors or have a vision of his “dream wedding,” but he was very active in other aspects of planning.

For the OP’s question, rustic is a year-round thing, so you can definitely still do it in the spring! You may do a slightly different shade of a color — dark red is more fall, for example — but you can definitely make it work. I love your blue and sunflower inspiration pics!

I give him the options of red and sunflower or the blue and sunflower, and he chose the blue. It's not that he doesn't want to have anything to do with it period but more that he doesn't want to just go over everything detail by detail he doesn't have a problem with me asking his opinion on things he's actually very open-minded about things. He's a big goofball 95% of the time. He wants to have a temple wedding and I told him that I wanted to do a rustic theme and wanted to know what his thoughts were on it, and his response was that he didn't think the bishop would be very fond of us having horses and stuff in the temple. Then when I asked him about the color palette he's response was road cone Orange... Lol 😂 so I said okay what about this are there any colors that you do not want? And he said yes no pink and no peach. I said okay what colors would you like and he said he didn't know so then I went and looked up color palettes and give him some ideas and he picked the one that he picked. I'm still going to continue asking him for his opinion on certain things I'll show him pictures of this or that for inspiration and ask his opinion.

Sounds perfect! I did that with my planning. He voiced an opinion on the things he cared about, and I did what I wanted on the rest. 😆

Congrats! My opinion, Yellow red and brown seem more like fall to be honest than spring. I would suggest, if you do yellow, maybe do like a blush pink or a nice olive green combo. Or if you do brown, do a light brown , white or ivory with a blush pink or mauve.

I agree that yellow, red and brown seem like they would work better for a Fall wedding but there are no rules. Pick whatever you like! My FH is not interested in the tiny details either. Smiley laugh

I think that blue and sunflowers work for Spring, especially a lighter shade.

Maybe consider olive green (leaves), yellow (daffodils), white (melting snow), dusty blue (the sky), and a soft blush (cherry blossoms)
