Thank you speech from Bride and Groom

Lara, on June 29, 2015 at 2:03 PM Posted in Planning 1 12

Did anybody make a speech? Or does anybody plan to? I want to say something at the rehearsal dinner, but I feel like I'm writing an award acceptance speech. Anyone have any insight? Also, if I make a toast, does FH? Isn't that redundant?

Most weddings I have been to, the bride and groom both stand and one of them just says a quick thank you. nothing major.

FH and I are doing an informal joint toast. We plan to thank our families and friends and just say how excited we are to be at this point in our lives. Nothing long, just short and heartfelt.

We're saving a more formal speech for the wedding Smiley smile but that one will be short too.

I will do a quick thank you, FH is too shy. No MOH/Bman speeches. I hate them at weddings.

We both spoke. I thanked the guests for coming and the BM's and my husband thanked the groomsmen and the family. It was pretty short.

We said a short one. Just thanked everyone for coming and that we hoped that they had a good time. Then turned it over to BIL to make a speech.

I spoke at the rehearsal dinner to thank everyone for coming. I also introduced our bridal party because it was their first time meeting one another. We didn't speak at the actual wedding. I don't think I've ever attended a wedding where the couple spoke.

We are going to do a thank you speak at the end of the night. We will thank everyone for sharing the day with us and invite them to the dance floor for the last dance of the night. Doing it this way kills two birds with one stone for us.

I will definitely thank everyone for being there and everyone that helped. FH has already said he reeeeeally doesn't want to say much, but I think he at least needs to thank everyone. I usually do most of the talking anyway lol

We will be standing up at the RD and saying just a few words of thanks, nothing crazy! We'll probably do that right before we pass out our bridal party gifts.

ETA: We will not be speaking at our wedding. My parents are paying for it, so they are the hosts.

We did a quick thing at the RD, but not at the wedding. Just the MOH/BM toasts.

Yeah, I think I'm going to go off the cuff and be short and sweet, but just at the RD, only regular toasts at the reception.

I will be typing up a speech from me and my husband to be. We're also going to be honoring my grandma who loved Italian food.
