Our honeymoon is officially and completely booked as of this morning, and we're so so excited! We are spending 3 nights in Bangkok and then flying to Phuket for another 7 nights. We got ALL of our flights for free thanks to Chase rewards, and we only used about half of our points so the rest will cover our next vacation! We are paying out of pocket for the land portion of the trip, but we worked with a travel agent and it has been a breeze! She scheduled the full trip including hotel reservations, four tours/excursions, and all transportation to/from airports and tours is covered and scheduled. Breakfast is included at the hotels and the tours also each include one meal so about half of our meals are already covered in the price, which will help keep costs down while we're there. They also gave us a free upgrade at the second hotel so we'll have a private pool connected to our room! The upgrade also includes a free massage voucher for both of us and it says we'll be greeted with fruit and champagne upon check-in.
This was our first time using a travel agent and I couldn't recommend it enough. We will definitely plan on doing so for any international trips like this - it didn't cost us a penny to use her since she gets paid through the tour company she books with.
