Taco wedding bar

Hayley, on January 2, 2020 at 12:01 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 22
I'm hoping to hire a caterer for my wedding to do a nacho/taco bar but I'm having a hard time finding one, anyone have any suggestion?

We had a nacho bar for our late night snack. Our venue provided all of our food. I would look for caterers that specialize in Mexican food.

I think without knowing where the wedding is located it is hard for anyone to make any suggestions.

Oh okay. I am from Pennsylvania and we got married in Pennsylvania. My brother had been talking to a caterer for his wedding and she was going to do a nacho bar for them. They ended up going with someone else though. The name of her business is Eat & Run. I have included a link for you. They are located in Williamsport, PA. Not sure where in Pennsylvania you are having the wedding compared to Williamsport. I know Moe's and Quboa also offering catering, but they wouldn't stay for the wedding.

Most Mexican restaurants cater. Do you have a Mexican restaurant that you like going to? We had a taco bar at my last staff meeting from a local Mexican restaurant.

First, check with your venue to see if they have an approved vendor's list. If they don't, I would check with your local Mexican restaurants. Almost all of them with offer catering options and menus and could easily provide you with a Nacho/Taco bar.

On a side note, we had a nacho/taco bar and it was a huge hit!

    This.
I went to a wedding and they had a local pizza shop cater it. They had some of the employees stay behind to serve the food. You maybe able to work a deal with a local Mexican restaurant.

I worried my venue of choice won't allow that, they seem very strict with their catering even though they are open catering.

Thank you! I think I have to check with my venue they seem very strict, and that's been heartbreaking, paying $6000 to rent a space I should be allowed to choose my caterer.

Both Moes and Chipotle offer catering with build your own style taco bars, if you are ok with it seeming a little more casual than a regular catering company. If you have any other Mexican chain restaurants near you I'm sure they also offer catering.

I know we had talked about doing a pretzel bar for our late night snack which our venue didn't offer and we would have to hire a professional caterer to provide that service because they wouldn't allow us to just set it up ourselves. It is likely due to health reasons, but I would definitely check with your venue before you commit to anything. I think it is common to have venues restriction things like this.

We are having a nacho/taco bar for our wedding as well. Our family likes to graze and snack, so we figured this would be the best thing. Plus, who doesn't love tacos!!

I know the feeling. That's how I felt with ours. None of our "approved" vendors were mexican places but the one we did choose, we just asked if they would be willing to go off of their usual catering menu to do it for us and they did so that is always an option as well. They can say no but it can't hurt to ask.

If you’re venue is anything like mine, it allowed for “open” catering but it needed to be a full-service caterer (provides linens and service) and they had to approve it.

I used the WW app, searched vendors, and used the filter button in the top right to select the cuisine. I’d start there and select Mexican to help you with your search 🙂 That’s how we found our Indian caterer (they do different cuisines too). If you find a vendor who does Mexican but doesn’t list taco bar don’t be afraid to ask, they probably do it but don’t list it
