Sweating for the Wedding

Melissa, on June 15, 2019 at 8:28 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 1 51
Hey All, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how you're getting in shape for your upcoming wedding, or if you are now married what did you do to feel extra confident in your dress?!
I absolutely love my dress, but since moving in with my FH, I've gained 8 pounds of happiness lol my dress is a trumpet/a-line hybrid. So not mega form fitting like a mermaid. Want to work on my abs and arms.
All advice is welcome!!
Thank you!
Melissa

I'm just making sure I don't gain weight/fat until the wedding so I can continue to fit into my dress. Haha. I do Beachbody on Demand. I've done multiple workout programs on it (21 Day Fix, Insanity Max 30, LIIFT4, Transform 20, etc), plus I do the Ultimate Portion Control containers, it means I can eat all food groups in moderation (aka not overeating). I don't agree with eliminating food groups, plus I love carbs and sweets too much to do that. I also have a membership at Planet Fitness, they offer classes and a personal trainer, but may end up cancelling since I just don't have much time to make the drive at the moment. I think Beachbody on Demand is nice because you can do the workouts anywhere and it's only $100 per year, which is cheaper than most gyms.

LIIFT4 program helped me tremendously on my arms (however you will need weights). And Beackbody on Demand has several programs with ab workouts.

I started doing small group fitness HIIT classes that combine weights, cardio and abs in a circuit 3x a week. Watching what I eat. And likely adding cardio on the off days.

I cut out coffee creamer, desserts, and soda. I took HIIT classes twice a week, did TIU workouts the other 3 days, and walked our dog at least 3 miles every weekend. I've lost 11 lbs in the last 6 months (technically 13 but I vary daily with 3 +/- lbs).

I’ve been sticking to a manageable intense routine of 5x a week HIIT training both cardio and strength. Plus the Warrior Diet for intermittent fasting (20/4 instead of 16/8) and keeping within a 1200kcal zone with low carb/modified Keto. I stick to 1G water and on rest days I at least walk or bike or something outside. I post my workouts on Instagram @thepeacetraveler .. not for everyone but I’m down -26# and -6.5% BF since Jan.

I hire a trainer for 1 hour per week to give me more knowledge on different workouts, work me out, and show me how to do things properly! And then I workout 4 additional days during the week. I also try my best to meal prep at least during the week.

I did Keto with intermittent fasting and working out 3-4 times a week for about 5 months. I lost 30 lbs all together and have been able to flux between 122-125lbs for the last 4 months with a regular diet again and 3 times a week of excising. Mostly cardio but some weight lifting to keep toned.
My wedding is in 5 days and I am so ready for my dress! It feels complete now that I see myself how I always thought I would. You got this girl!!

Cassey Ho’s Blogilates. She has a PIIT 28 challenge which isn’t free that I really liked. However, I think most of her videos are free. If you sign up for her email list, you get a monthly workout calendar of her videos and each video focuses on different body parts. She got married last year and even has a wedding series. And no extra equipment needed. She’s so upbeat and happy that working out is a little less painful 😂

I've lost 20 lbs since April. I am hoping to lose another 20 lbs by the end of August (which will be my goal weight). I do 45 mins+ a day of heavy cardio via a spin (fixed gear bike), as well as weights. I do my own version of a spin/orange theory class from my home. Right now, I am switching things up by doing 45 mins of spin/weights in the am before work & then I do either 25 mins of straight spin or 10 mins of abs work at night. I also walk my dog daily (but he hates the heat, so he doesn't walk long). I also walk up & down my office steps 3x a day (I'm on the 5th floor so it's 80x steps x3). I only drink water (with the exception of my 1x morning coffee a day).

I eat 3x meals a day - all whole grains, lean protein, low fat. I have gotten used to being hungry a good portion of the day. I try not to snack when I am hungry. When I first started I was definitely hangry a lot of the day, but I am getting used to it & not being so hangry.

Les Mills is AMAZING! I’ve done it on and off for 8 years. It has different workouts that range from HIIT to strength training. I’m personally a huge fan of Bodypump. It gets you ripped fast.
I used to do it in a gym, but now subscribe to Les Mills On Demand. I workout in my living room. It’s the best and I highly recommend it!
