Support for them 'girls

Melinda, on January 25, 2022 at 6:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 10

Hi there! Wondering if anyone can suggest some tape to add more support for my dress? I do have bra cups sewn in however I'm wondering if I need additional stickys so avoid an unfortunate mishap? My dress has a very deep V.

Also to throw a wrench.. I'm highly allergic to latex which can be included in some adhesives so if its hypoallergenic it would be a huge plus!

It’s often recommended to have cups sewn in but what no one mentions is they rarely provide support and lift if you are larger than B cup and/or not naturally perky. The most recommended adhesives on the forum is goodlines.com which is latex free

I tried the boob tape and it didn’t work for me :/ I’m a C cup. I purchased the tape at Walmart . Maybe a different brand will be better? I can show u a pic of the one I purchased if you want to see

Does your dress have straps? If not, maybe consider adding straps. Additional boning in the bodice will also help.

I'm a G cup and I had ok lift with my dress as it originally was (strapless with an illusion sweetheart neckline) but nowhere near enough to be comfortable so I had additional boning added to the bodice and also had straps added to the dress because those are what made me actually feel secure and removed the urge to keep pulling the dress up.

Seconding good lines, but if you’re more than a B cup I would recommend getting the roll of tape and not just the kit with the larger patches. I’m a C and just got the kit and wore it to my alterations appointment as a test and didn’t feel like it gave me as much support as I would like, so I’ll also be ordering the tape roll.

The best "boob tape" I've ever tried is BrassyBra since the shape is made to lift the girls up from the bottom and you don't have to figure out how to place strips of tape. Their website doesn't specifically say it's latex free - just that it's medical grade and is hypoallergenic to a point. I have a latex allergy and didn't notice any serious issues, BUT my allergy is definitely not super severe or anything.

You're welcome! I know some people mentioned in this thread that boob tape doesn't give enough support, but I'm a F cup and felt completely secure and supported with this brand which i haven't gotten from a roll of "tape".

Goodlines.com has a tutorial video on how to apply and remove the tape. The pasties are intended to use under the tape to protect the nipples.
