Summer bridal makeup

Katie, on December 19, 2020 at 8:16 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 8
I’m getting married in Costa Rica, this July. I’m looking for some recommendations on good foundation and setting sprays that will hold up in the rainforest and really humid summer temps. Any suggestions??

I would go to your local Ulta store & ask one of their makeup artists.

Have you considered going make-up free?

I would love to, if I had great skin/complexion. But that’s not the case for me.

I think airbrush makeup would be the best option if there's a spa or professional makeup artist in the area. I haven't had it done before, but I attended a wedding where it was raining that day and the brides makeup looked untouched. The airbrush makeup should have the same effect in heat too. Hope that helps!

Primer and setting spray are required regardless of humidity levels to keep makeup in place for longer than a couple hours. Ulta.com and Sephora.com have beauty consultants you can chat with to figure out what you need. Are you doing your own makeup or having a professional do it? A professional makeup artist will have all those supplies in their inventory already.

I haven’t decided if I’m going to go with the makeup artist the resort works with or ask one of my bridesmaids to do it. The resort is basically a family owned boutique hotel in a non-touristy part of Costa Rica. So the makeup artist is not professional.

If you go with the bridesmaid, make sure you get a trial run beforehand. Also make sure that the makeup is designed for photography so it doesn't wash you out. Again, Ulta and Sephora consultants can tell you what is best to use.
