Stressed out

I just need to vent, my wedding is this Friday and things are going wrong! I suffer from diabetic retinopathy and my right eye has gone blurry. Then my oldest and favorite aunt may not be able to attend because my uncle caught covid after avoiding it all this time. He decided to take an in person meeting with a group and caught it. Friends are either out of town or caught covid recently. The latest kicker my brother and nephew came to town for the wedding and boom my nephew says I don't feel good. You guessed it covid, so now both my brother and nephew can't come to the wedding. So I'll be walking down the aisle solo as both our parents have passed away. No brother sister dance to the song my dad used to sing. This stinks, they day off things go bad for rehearsal then the wedding is going to go without issues, what about a week before?

    Oh no Laura! I am so sorry to hear that all of this going on a couple days before you wedding. Is there anyone else who you would walk down the aisle with? Maybe a close friend or another relative? If you don’t do the brother dance can you play the song maybe as a dedication to your dad?

    I am so sorry Smiley sad it can be very disappointing when our loved ones can't make it, even though sometimes it's not their fault. Will you have other close family or friends that could walk you down the aisle? Maybe try live streaming so your family members can still watch and be with you. I hope things take a turn for the better and you still enjoy your day!

    Could they go and get tested tomorrow to see if they are still positive for Covid? Not sure how sick, they are, but if it would come back negative I would think they would be fine to attend. But either way I'm so sorry this is happening.

    That's a good idea, I'll play the song in memory of dad. I don't really have other relatives in the state that will be coming in, so I'll just do a solo walk down.

    I'm so sorry Laura! Could you throw together a memory table or a "reserved for those with us in spirit" chair? You could also try to find a small photo charm or locket with a picture in it to wrap around your bouquet so you have someone with you that way.

    I am so sorry…I actually feel your disappointment!!! I love the live stream idea!! My daughter’s wedding is Saturday so also feeling like a lot has to come together in a short amount of time! I am most excited to see my daughter & future son in law together & to see them smile as they are married. I want you to smile HUGE and be super happy because you are marrying the love of your life!!! May you feel the love from those that are present! 💛

    Thank you so much Cathy, congrats on your daughter's upcoming wedding. It'll all fall into place the day of. She'll be there marrying the one she loves, and that's really all that matters in the end.
