Stress breakouts or rashes? Venting.

Please don’t continue if you don’t like medical/icky pictures!

okay I don’t want to get too personal here but... my body is breaking out in rashes and I’m wondering if it’s stress related from planning a wedding or anxiety? I’ll go to the Dr. next week but I’m wondering if anyone has had similar experiences? Like this year has SO not been my year with health 😞 I’m already $2k in debt with health things my insurance didn’t totally cover. I gained like 30lbs because of it, and now I’m having rashes! I had an IUD put in and I thought maybe that’s all from it, but that was three months ago....? Ugh! I can’t win! I’m just feeling like a chunky monkey with rashes and I’m getting married in September and want to look and feel my best but it seems so far out of reach today!

Sorry for the rant. I’m just discouraged and insecure. Here’s the rash, if anyone has had similar.

That definitely looks like stress induced rashes. I'd go to a doctor.

It is really hard to narrow anything down. Only the Dr can totally diagnose. It might totally be stress.

I had very similar and I thought it had to do with my birth control too! It definitely played a roll, but I have ridiculously sensitive skin. You may get a topical cream prescription and it works to hydrate your skin to get rid of all of that. It works pretty well, though not all of my acne and rash is gone yet. But it did a big difference!

I've always had eczema growing up, but I noticed it got way worse/aggravated last summer when I was feeling most stressed/anxious. Your rash is probably due to extra stress, but it's best to have a doctor make the call like you are doing!

I break out into hives when I’m overly stressed and overwhelmed. Usually starts on my chest and then spreads up my neck and to the rest of my body. After seeing a Dr. they told me to just take a Benadryl or Claritin as soon as I notice it and it typically goes away. It doesn’t look like your rash though. I would definitely consult a Dr and in the meantime find a way to try and relax and take a break.

I broke out in stress hives one time. I put aloe vera (like for sunburns) on them and took some Benadryl and that seemed to help. But what do I know, your doctor will know better haha

Super late in commenting but this is the only picture online that matches the current rash i have right now! If you don't mind sharing, was it stress induced and what did you do to help it? Thank you in advance!

Michelle - I am in the same situation. Have you traveled recently? I was in Honolulu last week, and I noticed them at the end of the week (around March 8)

No have not traveled at all! But since then, the red bumps that match the photos now more so look like dry eczema patches so now I'm using Eucerin! I first noticed spots around 2 weeks ago and now they've all dried up and are not red anymore. Perhaps you were exposed to some type of allergen while traveling?

You’re probably right! Mine look dry and eczema-like also, and it’s just a random pattern so it doesn’t seem like bug bites or anything. I’ll have to try Eucerin. Glad to know other people are dealing with the same thing - I hope this gets better for you!

Yeah, definitely! I definitely felt better after seeing the original photo in this thread! I just starting Eucerin too so hopefully it works for the two of us. Praying for us both to heal sooner than later! Smiley smile Good luck!

Brittani! Quick question-- I've noticed that after I shower, the dry spots that are barely visible otherwise become much more red and apparent. Do you notice the same thing?

Yes, same thing here! I've noticed more spots after I shower, and the ones that were already obvious become much more visible. It sounds like we're definitely dealing with something super similar! All of my spots are on my tummy/chest and back. I have no spots on my legs, arms, face, or neck. Are yours the same way?

I think we definitely are! I'm almost at a month since the spots started appearing and they are for the most part, not red anymore, but still kind of just slightly darker than my skin tone. I had spots on my arms, tummy, back, and thighs!
