Hmmm. As much as it sucks, I would probably just wait until the 6 weeks are up and then check-in, since that is what you were told originally.

If you she told you 2-3 weeks before she left, I think there is no harm in just checking in. I don't think it's annoying at all. Just a quick follow up saying you just wanted to check in on when you can expect your photos to be done.

I'd wait another week (or two if you can). If they just posted a gallery of a wedding before yours, then they are probably getting to yours soon. They have to go in order. It sucks having to wait though, I know...I am super impatient...but try to wait, lol.
