Steakhouse dinner for elopement Yay or Nay

Rosilus, on March 14, 2021 at 1:17 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10

Hello all its getting closer to our day May 15 2021 bride here. We've already decided to do a elopement due to covid. Over all its only gonna be the 2 witnesses attending besides us. The only vendor that states about meals in the contract is the photographer ONLY if the event is 5 hours or more which is understandable. I wanted to know would it be good to do either Longhorn or Texas roadhouse (Steak dinner with drinks) as a meal afterwards. Our ceremony will be between 2pm to 4p. I haven't nailed the exact time yet or is that too early for dinner and should opt for lunch instead. I figured with such a extreme few we can most likely pull it off.

Most restaurants start serving from their dinner menus at 5. But you can eat anytime. Your plan sounds delicious as long as no one is vegetarian.

No they are not vegetarian in the slightest bit as a matter of fact they are seafood eaters just like my fiance and I. We are also big on steak and since it hardly anyone hell we could afford it lol

I think going out for either lunch or dinner would be very nice, but you will need to nail down a time in order to figure out which would work better since most restaurants don't start serving their dinner menu until at least 4 pm.

Yeah I'm still figuring out the order because where we are taking pic is a hour away. We are eloping on a beach. The botanical we are using is a hour away though likely would elope take a few pic at the beach eat and take more pics at the other location and end it after that.

Sounds awesome! Can’t go wrong with a steakhouse! Check the times so you can add that to your timeline.

I love both options (the bread at Texas Roadhouse is to die for), but you’ll want to consider the vibe you want for your reception. Texas Roadhouse is much more casual in its decor and the metal tins of peanuts (not to mention the peanut shells on the floor). Longhorn is a little more “put together” if that makes sense. Also, some Longhorns have semi private rooms that you may be an option. Once you determine the vibe you’re going for, either one of them would work and offer a great steak meal!!

If I was hosting an elopement dinner, I would go in as a regular diner. No need to reserve a private room which typically have a certain number of guests minimum. The casual vibe would be fun if that is where you are considering.

Yes that sounds great! This is brilliant, I'm pretty sure my FH would be ecstatic to have Texas Roadhouse for a post-ceremony meal.
