Staying organized during planning

Fenja, on January 14, 2020 at 10:10 AM Posted in Planning 1 19

I’m usually a type-a kind of person when it comes to planning and organizing things, but wedding planning got a little messy lately. Tell me about how you guys stay organized!
Are you planning online? Use apps? Excel sheets? Good old notebooks?
I need some inspiration and motivation!

I did Google drive sheets and when buying things for your wedding have separate boxes e.g a box just for the sign in table, box just for the favors table, etc

I used The Knot wedding planner binder as well as The Knot app. My husband created an Excel spreadsheet for our budget. I also put all of my emails relating to the wedding in a separate folder within my email.

I have all this stuff as well but kind of scattered. I guess having it all in one place it really smart. I should do that too!

It made it easier to locate things. I also made sure I save all contracts and important documents in the event that I needed to reference them.

It definitely helped me a lot. It’s also easy because you can add people to it, ex: I’m giving my photographer access to the wedding day timeline so she can figure out when and where she needs to be and edit them in.

I used Google Sheets for almost all our wedding planning.

I'm leaning heavily on google sheets (like being able to share it with people), Zola, our 2nd bedroom and now I have clear plastic bins that I'm going to start putting things in for what goes where at the venue. Trying to stay as organized as possible, but it does get hard sometimes

I have everything in a Google Doc sheet! This has kept me sane, lol. Plus, I have been able to share it with my FH and my dad so they can stay on track too.

Ive been working on 2 things at a time. Venue and guest list first. Than cater and photographer. I have 19 quotes with cater and kinda got stuck and lost for a month so I took a break from the holidays and haven't picked back up so i kinda moved onto flowers. But if i work on more than 2 things I've noticed it gets so unorganized. Recommend a wedding email to keep everything in one v.s. personal.

For me, Excel and Word has been great. I have an entire folder dedicated to all things wedding related. So that's really good. Keeps me very organized. As I complete tasks, I go back to my documents and check things off as I go.
