Staying in Kaanapali but getting married on beach in Wailea

Shana, on June 16, 2021 at 1:58 AM Posted in Hawaii Planning 0 1

Hello! I am planning to elope in Maui this fall and trying to pick our beach location. How difficult will it be to get married on a Wailea beach, but stay at a hotel in Kaanapali? How would travelling in a car for an hour in a wedding dress go over? Or would it just be easier to get married on one of the west side of the island? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Hi! I am not from Hawaii but vacationed in Maui a few years ago and used to book Hawaii vacations as a travel agent. I would say keep it simple and stick to one beach or the other. I've stayed in Ka'anapali and it's beautiful, lots of places to stay and the beach/view is perfect. Not as familiar with Wailea, but even just getting from the Maui airport to Ka'anapali area is about an hour, so from Maui airport to Wailea would be even more of a hike. Both areas are beautiful and you can't go wrong with either, but I think in terms of location/time being in car/and the centrality to Lahaina in case you needed to run into town for anything last minute for the wedding, Ka'anapali would be a great bet! Best of luck and envious of your Maui elopement! Smiley smile
