Staying calm - sorta

Meghan, on January 25, 2021 at 10:14 AM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 2
I’ve been trying to keep up with the covid protocols and know my wedding is far out (September 2021) in NJ, but I need to post this so I don’t bother my venue until we’re closer to the date haha. Our contact at our venue so far has been amazing and informed us that they created an outdoor reception area. This made me feel comfortable and still does, but that was a few months back. I’ve also kept up with reviews on our venue and they’ve been wonderful. I don’t want to keep bugging him because I know the priority right now are upcoming weddings but omgggggg then uncertainty of everything is starting to make me nervous. Our contract is for 175 people and I’m worried that if we cut our list we don’t get a refund on the difference. I think my biggest worry is losing a great deal of money with vendors or having trouble getting all vendors on board if we postpone. I read a bunch of the fall NJ 2021 wedding posts on here, but kinda needed to post this to get it off my chest before adding my venue as a favorite contact and calling frequently 🤣 Esp since I know we’re all taking it day by day. Thanks for reading!

Let it out Meghan!! This is a safe space for venting. ❤️ And that’s awesome news that your venue has created an outdoor reception area!

Does your contract hold you to paying for all 175 guests? Or is there a minimum number of people or minimum spend included in your contract? I’d want to try to figure out that grey area of what happens if you can go forward with 50 or 100 guests!
