St. Thomas vs. St. Lucia vs. ???

Barielle, on April 4, 2018 at 1:13 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 3

I'm trying to decide on a destination for our honeymoon in November 2018. We definitely want something Carribbean. I like the idea of St. Thomas because we won't have to worry about passports but I want to make sure that there are enough activities to keep us busy for 5-7 days. I've heard that St. Lucia has gorgeous scenery and more all-inclusive resorts. But I'm also open to other Carribbean islands, like the DR or the Bahamas.

Our "must-have" list includes: all-inclusive four/five resort (might use family timeshare), fun nightlife, water & daytime activities, good food/culture, easy transportation (to/from airport, to/from activities).

Can anyone share their experiences?

Thanks!

I've heard that St. Thomas has tons of all-inclusive resorts. I'm not sure about the resorts in St. Croix USVI, but I know the culture aspect is definitely more prevalent than St. Thomas which can be very crowded and touristy. Antigua is another one worth looking into. They have a lot of different cool activities, 365 beaches or so they say, and plenty of culture. It's a popular destination, so typically there are direct flights to Antigua. I don't know about resorts there though.

I know St. Thomas was hit by Irma last year. I would check to see how things are progressing on that island: https://www.npr.org/2018/02/02/580448399/visitors-slowly-returning-to-virgin-islands-after-hurricanes-destruction. Technically hurricane season runs from June to November. It's probably unlikely to see a hurricane in November though...but, you never know.

Going to St Thomas I did stay for 5 days & had plenty to do, you could visit the different beaches or even take a ferry to St John (only 20 mins away) to do island tours. When I went I stayed with my aunt so I’m sorry I can’t really help with finding resorts but it was a beautiful place if you are looking for relaxing activity, scenery & nightlife.
