St. Lucia Honeymoon - Need advice!

Jill, on February 20, 2014 at 11:39 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 14

So we've decided to honeymoon in St. Lucia! Does anyone have any experience there? Any suggestions of where to stay and what not to miss?

We love everything we've heard but I want to make sure we stay someplace beautiful - perhaps all-inclusive?? What are your thoughts?

Friend of mine got married at Sandals in Saint Lucia. She had wonderful things to say about it! I know they have more than one resort there. Check out their website to see which one is the best for what you want! Good luck!

If you want to go to an all-inclusive, make sure you skip the Sandals Grande St. Lucian-- they are scheduled to be doing construction on their overwater bungalows for most of the year.

I haven't been, but my FH went on a rum tour in Martinique and LOVED it. You can either take a boat for a day-trip to Martinique, or take them right in St. Lucia. Also, I've heard good things about the rainforest tours.

I'd also suggest going to an all-inclusive with its own beach. Their beaches are pretty narrow to begin with, so if you can get something a little more private, that should help with crowding.

I went to St. Lucia on a cruise once and it is breathtaking. It rains almost every day but only for a few seconds at a time and then the sun is back. That's why they have so many rainbows and more beautiful flowers than most other islands around. I just did a few tours and loved it!

Do you guys think it's better to go to a sandals resort than one of the other smaller names like body holiday? With Sandals my only worry is that it'll be a bunch of very young adults partying all night.

It's not that I'm old or anything, but I'm usually in bed around 10:30 Smiley smile So I want to make sure the place is a good fit for my lifestyle.

We were going to do Sandals La Toc but decided to change our destination to the Bahamas to save some money. Our agent highly recommended La Toc, she said the other Sandals resorts in St Lucia (Grande St Lucian & Halcyon Beach) are quieter and not much night life. If you want a more relaxed time they may be the resorts to look at but if you'd like a more up beat resort she recommended La Toc. A coworker of mine was just there on her honeymoon a couple weeks ago and said it was fabulous.

I was in St Lucia in October, and toured 15 hotels while I was there. There are a lot of really amazing adult only, all-inclusive resorts in St Lucia. While most are aware that Sandals has three resorts on St Lucia, there are a lot of other resorts to consider. Rendezvous is beautiful, and very romantic. The Body Holiday offers every guest a 50 minute spa treatment every day. And Jade Mountain is stunning! We've posted a lot of articles about St Lucia on our blog. http://www.blisshoneymoons.com/blog
