St. Lucia honeymoon in September (?!?!)

We are thinking about having our honeymoon the first weekend of September on the island of St. Lucia. I was wondering if anyone has any experience traveling to the Caribbean in September, specifically to St. Lucia and if they would recommend it or not. Our other option would be to wait until December or May.

We are also debating if we want to stay at a Sandals resort or not. Please let me know what you guys think!! Thank you in advance.

Hi Becca! I'm looking in to Sandals resorts in St. Lucia too - will be checking back here as well to see if anyone posts anything!
Regarding your larger question, i would HIGHLY recommend waiting. I've traveled extensively in the Caribbean, and hurricane season is so unpredictable. I think it might feel awful to worry about whether or not you'd get rained out, when you've already got plenty of wedding things to worry about! It could be fine, it could be awful. Last year I sent my parents to Jamaica for their anniversary; they arrived on the last day of a major hurricane. They lucked out the rest of the week, but the resort had literally been evacuated three days prior. Its so hit or miss. Regardless, if you go in September i would definitely buy trip insurance!
