Spray Tan

I know this has been discussed multiple times, but here we go again.... I have never gotten a spray tan before. I've always been terrified of them making me either look too dark or too orange. Also, when they say to exfoliate beforehand.... I will admit that I don't even know what that means 🙈. I've made a couple appointments to do one before and I always end up cancelling because of my fears.

I have my wedding shower coming up in February and I was thinking about taking the plunge then, but I'm still hesitant. I have went to tanning beds before and yes I know they're dangerous, but they're also expensive! A spray tan would be a more affordable option.
There is this place here that does airbrush spray tan where an actual person sprays you.... and that will make it more even. I know the people that own the place, but I think it will still make me feel uncomfortable standing there exposed 😫

I’ve done this twice for weddings (airbrushed by person) and it’s been great! I would do it 48hrs out. You can’t shower for 12hrs anyways and then give it a day or so do kinda settle down. This is the last one i did. I am on the far left in the pic. I am pretty fair skinned so I told them just to go a shade darker. It was an April wedding so i didn’t want to look super tan, just not like a ghost!Spray Tan 1

My biggest suggestion would be to find someone who hand sprays you. This will give you the most natural look and they will be able to customize it for your complexion. As far as exfoliation, if you have a dollar tree near you, they sell exfoliation gloves. All you have to do is take a hot shower and SCRUB your body from head to toe, focusing on areas like your knees and elbows. Make sure you shave and moisturize the night before. The morning of your spray tan, take a quick body shower and do not add moisturizer as it can mess with the tans ability to stick. Do a trial spray before to work out the kinks and to meet with the sprayer. I would not recommend getting a booth spray tan as those tend to be darker than you would want on your wedding day.

Also, I just wore an old bra and shorts. I just pulled straps down under arms to avoid tan lines and It wasnt uncomfortable at all. No different than wearing a bikini top.

That looks good.... very natural looking! Did they tell you to exfoliate beforehand? What does that mean? Lol.... I feel like I should know this.
It's just I would have to stand there bare on top if I got one for wedding because if I even wore a strapless bra, it would still show with my dress.
And you recommend to do two days before event?

I honestly just Shaved/scrubbed in shower with shower gel With “exfoliating beads” (which you can get at Walmart). I did that one on Thursday for a Saturday wedding. Just be warned you will feel very “orange” (even though it doesn’t look so orange) at first but once you shower the next day, that all goes away.
