Spandex or regular tablecloths?

Carlee, on January 11, 2022 at 1:32 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 2
Hello all! I have been going back and forth trying to decide if I should use spandex or regular (polyester?) tablecloths for my beach wedding. I was ok with the spandex idea but my ceremony coordinator did mention the guest arent able to scoot their chairs all the way in to eat and that doesn’t sound all that comfortable either, on the other hand traditional tablecloths could be a hassle if it’s windy. I think I am going to purchase online and resale later if that matters. Can anyone tell me their experience with either for their outdoor wedding?

Spandex works better and you don't have to pull them down over the table legs super far so people can still get under it with their chairs. Otherwise regular could work if you clip them to the tables!

I can’t speak for spandex table cloths but I was a guest at a reception for a vow renewal that had spandex chair covers. While there was nothing wrong with the chairs but they would not stay in place, shifting underneath you, making it difficult to move the chair to get in and out. 3/4 of the guests removed them halfway through dinner so it was a waste of time and money for the couple.

For a beach/outdoor wedding, I don’t think you need to worry about regular table cloths in the wind unless it’s blowing so hard you wouldn’t be outside in the first place. As a guest and a bride I would prefer the regular table cloths.
