Small, intimate wedding - venues in Arkansas?

Shaydarian, on January 18, 2019 at 12:30 PM Posted in Arkansas Planning 0 12
Hey there! So my fiance and I are planning a small wedding, close family & friends, about 30-50 people, but definitely under 50. All wedding venues we've found are expensive and too big for what we need. We're planning an outdoorsy wedding with a kind of woodlands/fantasy theme, not just necessarily rustic. We're kind of stuck on this part of the planning. :/ thanks in advance!

I’d suggest looking at the Wedding Wire search tool.

What part of Arkansas does your venue need to be in?

We're good work pretty much anywhere in the state. We live in Camden, so it's not a big deal to plan at a venue even a few hours out. We're used to driving a few hours to get to most places.

Barn, winery, lodge, garden, historic house?

If you’ve found a venue you like, have you asked about their: off-season rates, weekday rates, brunch rates? We had a weekday, off-season wedding and saved more than 50% off site fees and hotel fees for us & guests.

I just looked on here for venues and they look beautiful, big, and EXPENSIVE Smiley laugh . We are doing a small chapel in Alabama. I would suggest looking at alternative places that aren't just wedding venues. That will help with cost and get something a little more cozy/intimate. You could get married in a park with an arch and some chairs then have the reception at a restaurant with that many people.

Herecomestheguide.com and wedding-spot.com may be useful. Also use yelp. Barns, local parks/preserves/gardens/woodsy/elks lodge/historic home, type venues may be easier to find on google typing in those words and checking in some of the areas and cities likely to have these venues or event centers. Maybe ceremony in one of these locations and reception at a smaller hall or event center.

That's another thing I've thought about. I told my FH that I'd be fine going to someone's for a cookout after as long as we get first dances and have plenty of seating!

I just had an idea to find a good sized air bnb location and set things up myself. Not sure quite how well that would work but we could do ceremony there and reception at a restaurant. I'm trying to keep the budget smaller so we can go on the honeymoon.

We thought about doing this too! Just had too many people. Make sure the airbnb is cool with you having an event first.

You should look at Camp Ouachita in Perryville. It’s a cute lodge surrounded by trees and overlooking the lake. It’s only $300 for one time slot.
