Skin care? (not sure if right section…)

littlemisssunshine, on March 6, 2023 at 7:28 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 5
I’m not sure if this is the right section for this, but I couldn’t figure which other one would make sense.

As the title says, I’m asking about skin care. I breakout at times, mostly on my chin, even with 2x daily washing and using a dual action moisturizer. I am REALLY wanting to try and make my skin look nice and hopefully minimize breakouts between now and my wedding. My wedding is October this year for reference of time line. Any input would be appreciated!!

Have you talked to a dermatologist about underlying conditions and what they suggest?

I saw one a few years back. They said hormone/genetics, recommended the over the counter counter stuff. I started a new birth control last year and noticed that has made a big difference.

Chin is usually hormonal so I would recommend getting back in touch with your dermatologist! Sometimes it can be exacerbated by too much cleansing/treatment which ends up drying out the skin too. I found the little hydrocolloid pimple patches to be the biggest help for me actually!

To improve your skin and minimize breakouts:

Use a gentle cleanser, toner, and non-comedogenic moisturizer daily.

Incorporate a gentle exfoliator 1-2 times a week.

Look for products with acne-fighting ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

Avoid touching your face, and keep your phone and pillowcases clean.
