We want something super casual for dinner at our wedding. What caterers/ simple dinners did you have? I live in the DMV area!

I mean, simple varies from person to person.

I've seen pizza and chick-fil-a catered to weddings before. The pizza was from a local place that had a food truck so they were able to cook on site and keep it hot using a special piece of equipment.

I've also seen chipotle and olive garden, then I've also seen basic catering comfort food like fried chicken, mashed potatoes and macaroni. It all depends on your tastes and what you're expecting from the wedding.

Every time I see someone mention Chick-fil-A catering I always get so excited! I would be so psyched to attend a laid-back casual wedding that was serving Chick-fil-A! LOL there’s only like one in my state and it’s impossible to ever get there because the line is like an hour long haha!

I usually eat pretty low carb but have a weakness for Chik Fil A - when I have carbs, it’s that!

I've never seen a wedding with Chickfila catered but this would be my ideal dinner as a wedding guests! And it would honestly be really cute and different. A dressed up ceremony with Chickfila for dinner would be almost ironic but very notable and cute! I love it.

So, I'm not sure if it's something they normally offer. The bride that did this knew the manager or maybe used to work there? They bought their own chaffing pans and utensils (they went with the nice ones too, not the disposable foil), and hired someone to serve. So 'catered' might not be the right word here lol.

But someone could call into a restaurant and order food in bulk and just dump it in chaffing dishes and be fine really. As long as it's fresh, kept hot, and has someone making sure you don't run out before your time everything is good.

Ben's chili bowl is popular for events I believe, and that's pretty darn simple. District taco as well. Theres good bbq in this area, including a new place in Arlington

We are in the DMV area also and we've heard of a lot of people doing food trucks. I'm still torn with this idea it could be cool. Depends on the vibe!

Be careful with food trucks because most can only serve one person at a time.

Think about the casual places you like to eat out. Most restaurants (Mexican, Chinese, etc) have corporate catering drop off service listed on their websites. The same food you get on Casual Friday at work or when you go out for date night will be given to you in chafing pans that can be served buffet style by staff found on thumbtack.com
