Silicone bands

Molly, on March 25, 2019 at 6:36 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 19
Is it okay to wear a silicone band at work even though you are not technically married. I am a registered nurse at a hospital and I work in the labor and delivery unit and the neonatal intensive carere unit. I am not allowed to wear my ring while working in NICU. Also I don't feel comfortable wearing my ring to work because of changing of gloves all the time.

I don’t think there’s any silicone band rules. You can do whatever you want. I wear one to the gym, I don’t see what the big deal would be?

Go for it! My friends that are nurses all wear them and I've even considered wearing mine to work, I'm a chemist so I'm also always changing gloves.

I am also a nurse. There is a lot of my co workers and myself wear silicone rings even though we aren't married yet
I already accidentally scratched a patient while rolling them. Plus the taking on and off of the gloves is bad for the prongs and stones. I love love love my silicone ring from groove life.

I bought FH and I ours off Amazon for the gym. They were made by a company called Knot Theory and I ordered them on Friday night and they arrived on Saturday morning!

I highly recommend this company. High quality. Super clean. Doesnt get smelly. Plus I forget im wearing it. They also have a lifetime guarantee that they will replace it no matter what including if it gets lost or damaged.

Yes! I’m a massage therapist, and I had a silicone band as my promise ring for 2 years before FH proposed, and now I have my “engagement” silicons band I wear at work.

I don't see the purpose in wearing the band until you are married, but that's just me. Once you are married I think a silicone band would be fine, unless your work says you can't or some reason. My FH is an electrician and he can't wear his band at all at work, nor wear it as a necklacke. Silicone and rubber gets stuck on wiring and could be dangerous..other metals would be electrical issues, and necklacke wouldn't make a difference. So he has to just not wear it and remember to put it back on each day. We'll see how well he does, ha!
