Signature Cocktails

Hello Everyone!

My fiance and I are getting eloped in Hawaii, we are then having a reception only when we get back for friends and family in November. I am having trouble coming up with the menu for the bar. We are going to be serving beer, wine and seltzer but our venue limits the hard alcohol to only 2 signature drinks. One of the signature drinks will be a Moscow mule but I do not know what to serve for the 2nd. I know typically you should serve one light liquor and a dark liquor but neither my fiance or I drink dark liquor so we aren't sure about making one of our signature drinks be something that we wouldn't drink ourselves. Do you think we could do another vodka or tequila drink or what would pair best with a mule? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You!

I feel like the signature drinks are usually a his and hers, and it just so happens men tend to favor dark liquor over light. I would just do another drink you both like. Or if you want to play up the Hawaii component, maybe do a Mai Thai or something?

I think a mai thai would be the perfect choice! It’s made with rum (so a dark liquor), but it’s also light and fruity; and it’s a cute nod to Hawaii.

I suggest including a mocktail or non-alcoholic option. You can be creative and often guests are game to try something more refreshing and festive than the typical soda/ pop/ water options.

If you don't like dark liquor, you don't need a specialty cocktail for it as guests can request what they typically like at an open bar.
