Should i buy the shoes?

Tamia, on September 3, 2022 at 2:31 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 42

Let me start off by saying that I fully understand heels will not be seen under your dress and probably arent the most important thing when it comes to the full gown. When I first started wedding shopping, I knew the only way I would even buy heels would be if I found ones that were exactly (not a thing off) what I wanted and if they matched my bouquet. I've been fully content with wearing converse. My fiance and I were going to get matching shoes and have the photographer take some cute pics of our shoes. However, I literally just stumbled across what I can only call my dream wedding heels. It's like the vision in my head of the heels I wanted copy-pasted onto a shoe in real life. Bottom line--I want the shoes. I'm also a shoe person through and through, and I would for sure wear these after our wedding day (elopement day) rather for us lol.

But here's the catch....they are $400 and no way could I ever imagine spending that much on shoes. Even still, I've sat with this over a few days, and I can't stop thinking about the shoes lol. If you were in my position would you buy them or not...I'm so stuck! This is genuinely upsetting me more than it should be LOL

I personally wouldn't, but I'm not a shoe person. I paid $80 for mine, which are the glitter kate spade keds. And even that seemed expensive, but I'll probably wear them again.

Buy the shoes girl! It’s a one time thing for a once in a lifetime event. I’m not even a shoe person, but I would 100% get the shoes. And like you said, you will wear them again after the wedding too. And every time you wear them you will think of your wedding 💕

Yes! Should i buy the shoes? 1
They match everything from the colors to the florals. I also found them to be really unique, I haven’t been able to find a shoe that looks like this anywhere else.

I wouldn't - I'm a shoe person, and they are *super* cute - but that's a LOT of money. My SIL bought hugely expensive shoes for their wedding and spent the night in agony - blisters, ball of foot pain, numb toes, the whole kit-n-caboodle.

Super cute and unique! And the block heel will make them a little more comfortable. You could always wear these for the ceremony, get beautiful pictures of you getting ready in them, and then change into the matching chucks with your husband after. I will say though, I am definitely a “more is more“ type of gal, and totally believe in splurging for a huge events. If it’s in your budget, go for it! But definitely don’t break the bank for a pair of shoes.

The price is what’s getting me the most! We’re eloping just the two of us, so I’m not too worried about foot pain, plus I wear heels often and have gotten pretty used to the 9-yards. I just look at the price and it makes my heart sink because I love the shoes so much Smiley sad

Oh yeah those are totally unique and very beautiful! I feel like you should look at your budget and see where you could cut $400 and if you’re ok with cutting it. Those shoes are amazing! I can see why you’d want to wear them.

This is such a personal question. $400 for shoes for me. No Way! $400 for someone else, might be totally reasonable. I like to think of things in how many hours would I have to work to afford them. This usually makes the decision for me super quick.

I wouldn’t spend that on shoes. I had this moment with AMAZING water color invitations that I was obsessed with and was almost ready to pull the trigger , compromising to get them but without any bells and whistles but I paused and then ended up designing my own on Shutterfly or something and they ended up perfect. After the fact I had an “omg I can’t believe I ALMOST spent $xx on this little detail” and was relieved I hadn’t .

Here’s a question: though they’re a style you’d rewear, would you be comfortable wearing $400 shoes just anywhere ??
ALSO— are they comfy? I wouldn’t want expensive shoes I didn’t know we’re comfortable— I’ve bought some very cute shoes before that I loved, then realized they hurt to wear and they disintegrated in my closet over time, and all it did was make me sad. (So If it’s an online purchase, make sure you know the return policy)

Buy the shoes! I was in the same debate with myself on spending money for designer shoes. I told myself, the most extravagant day I’ll ever have is my wedding day, I want to feel like the best version of myself. I justified my designer shoe purchase and spent $1200 on my wedding shoes. Both my fiancé and I got shoes from the same designer and factored it into our budget as something special we will hold onto. We plan on wearing our shoes on our wedding day and on date night for our anniversary or on special occasions. Our wedding shoes will forever be special to us and something memorable each time we wear them. I say go for it. If you truly LOVE them, they’ll be an amazing keepsake and story to tell each time you wear them as your special wedding shoes ☺️

Personally I d only buy the shoes if 1. I could afford it and pay the bill right off and 2, if I knew I d wear them multiple times, $400 would be too much for another single wear item for me, the dress was painful enough ha!. Do what works best for you, they are lovely.

Omg! I wanted a pair from Bella belle! I had to convince myself I shouldn’t/couldn’t because we had other expenses leading up to the day. Dinner rehearsal, flights, hotel, jewelry, etc. And I’m a shoe girl so I understand the agony!
Do it if you aren’t over budget but otherwise use money towards your honeymoon or something extra for y’all on the wedding day.

I wouldn’t say I’d wear them *anywhere,* but my fiancé and I go on nice dates at least once a month and could definitely see myself wearing these on our dates! Also my style 100% fits these shoes so I’d wear them on certain occasions too. As far as cordobesa I can’t 100% day for sure. Most of my heels are this style and while heels aren’t the most comfy shoes this type of block heel is a bit less painful for the foot.

As far as the money, I keep telling myself we’ve kept our wedding under $5k which is really good! And I know most people tend to splurge on at least one thing in their wedding. I couldnt see myself spending more than $500 on my dress whereas some peoples budgets for a dress are like $2000. So I guess that’s good to consider too. All that being said, it’s just more of a shocker because I’d never think I’d be the person to buy $400 shoes LOL. But I can’t stop thinking about them!!

We get married in November and pretty much are done buying stuff minus little things! We have a lotttt of wiggle room left in the budget. However, I think I’d purchase these on my own outside of our budget tbh. I love love love shoes and the way these literally match our wedding theme and my bouquet to a tee makes them feel too good to pass up. Plus I know people spend like $2000 on a dress, or hundreds of dollars on invites. I think everyone has that one thing they splurge on and I think this would be mine! My dress was only $300 too but my mom paid for it.

In that case, I say go for it. It’s your day! I ended up buying a pair of Badgley Mischka.

This is what I would’ve love to get, in ivory or blue:😩

Personally I would not. I bought $15 white sneakers to wear under my dress lol. But everyone is different. I personally can’t super wear heels so that was a huge factor for me as I knew I would never wear them again if I bought heels and no one will see them anyway. I do think they’re very cute and if you think you’ll get a decent wear out of them and you really like them then go for it. We all sometimes spend money on things we know might not be worth the money but get it anyway (I literally just did yesterday) 😂

No I would not spend it yes they maybe killer and you have this vision and you have to have them. You can maybe find the same above for less or find a shoes better than that 1. Plus you can put that money towards something else because they you both wanted to add to your wedding. And later on don't want you go back and forth on why you did what you did lol but I get it. I'm also a shoe and bag person have shoes galore so I definitely get it. I have on top of my drawer closet and under the bed and on the side of my dresser lol lol. But I was Crazy I was about to buy this shoes so o e day I was looking for some shoes to wear that day. And came across the same shoes that I just had in my cart. I was tickle at myself and said Omfg but if it wont break your budget and it's a must have then I will go for it. I hope that this made you laugh and think about it

I also ended up buying Bella Belle’s myself. I know they’re super expensive, but I can tell you it’s worth it. At first, I tried buying knock-offs from the Kate Whitcomb brand for $150 and they were absolutely AWFUL! So uncomfortable just walking 20 minutes on my carpet! It took MONTHS to get my money back from them even though I mailed the shoes back almost immediately! I kept going back to the Bella Belle website conflicted about it and finally decided to just bite the bullet and order them from Nordstrom. I wore those things for 10 hours and don’t have any complaints! They also matched the style of my dress so perfectly.
