September Brides

Taran, on May 7, 2020 at 10:50 AM Posted in Tennessee Planning 0 3

I'm getting married in Northeast TN September 19th and haven't made any plans to postpone or reschedule. My venue hasn't made any regulations and they are discounting 2020 dates at their other venue for displaced brides (both are outdoor). I want to remain hopeful and stick with my date because I'm soooo ready to marry my fiance. What are my other Aug/Sep/Oct brides doing?

    Hi Taran,

It's great that you've already contacted your venue regarding their recommendations. The general consensus for September weddings and beyond is that it's too soon to panic. To give you a sense of what's happening from my POV, July/August couples seem to be monitoring the situation; they should try to make a decision to postpone or adjust their plans (e.g., guest count) by the end of May.

If you're interested to connect with other September couples, here are a couple of discussions:

Any september brides canceling their wedding?

How are my September brides feeling?

I'm hoping everything will be closer to normal by then! Sending positive vibes... Smiley heart

    Hi Taran!

I'm a September bride as well. My fiancé and I had long engagement so that we could save more money for our wedding, but COVID disrupted our plans. We looking to postpone our reception and will still have an intimate ceremony on our original date that we can live stream for our guests. We live in New Jersey, just across the river from New York City and things are just starting to open up again with a lot of limitations. Outdoor gatherings of 25 people have just been permitted and there are 10 people allowed inside. Our immediate family (and MOH/Best Man) will physically be there. A few other couples that we know are also postponing, especially those in late summer/fall like ours. We want our guests to be able to enjoy themselves without the fear of getting sick. At first I was very upset, we would have lost a lot of money if we simply cancelled, so we thought this would be the best for us. Since you're in Tennessee my fingers are crossed that you can have your wedding as planned, but if you really want to be married that day, try coming up with a few backup plans! It won't hurt too have them as options if you need to Smiley smile

    Hi,
I’m a October bride. I originally had my venue booked for Oct.2020 yet Covid occurred and we changed it to Oct.2021. I didn’t want my guest to feel uncomfortable. Because what’s a wedding with distance like really.🤨However, we will be getting married at the court house this year. So our one year anniversary will be our wedding ceremony and reception! 🥰
