September 2021 wedding…?

Lynn, on July 30, 2021 at 9:42 AM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 10
Hi Everyone, our second attempt at a wedding is the first week in September. With the Delta variant we are hearing of possible shut downs and mask mandates again for NJ even for vaccinated people. We have already had some guests cancel. I guess I am looking for advice on whether to postpone again or go through with it. In the long run with the amount of money we have lost I wish we had just eloped 😟

Hi Lynn- I’m also going through the same thing, but at this point we are going to just go through with it as I cannot imagine having to re-schedule this a 3rd time. It’s sad, because we’ve already spent so much money as well but I am still hopeful it will all work out.

    Hi ladies-
I just recently started worrying about my September wedding. We are planning on going through with it and hope for the best. Hoping a mask mandate will be the worst of it!

I am also getting married on September 24th! We already got legally married last year due to covid so this year is more celebrating with loved ones! If I have to cancel I will no longer reschedule and I will not be putting in more money until I know fersure what will happen if it has mask restrictions even outdoors I will not be have a wedding that would be a waste.

My wedding is September 5th. We are going through with it since everything is booked and invitations have already been sent out. We’ve rescheduled twice, I’m not doing it again. If people are uncomfortable than they won’t come, but I’m leaving it up to everyone discretion. I’m not dealing with this anymore.

I'm glad we seem to be all in the same boat. This is our third time rescheduling. We eloped also last summer, but had already paid the deposits and all non refundable fees. We really thought postponing to September was awesome, cause vaccines would be all done and the world would be better. Glad I'm not alone in feeling like this is NOT FUN AT ALL and I almost wish we had never planned a wedding to begin with.

Sigh, in the same boat. We are lucky enough to have an outdoor venue and lots of vaccinated folks. We are mostly worried about people flaking or just saying, eh would rather not and having a much diminished guest list Smiley sad

Yes, same deal. We are 10/23, I feel like anything could happen between now and then. We picked a venue with covid in mind, if we HAD to we could switch to this other huge pavilion outdoors on the property, will be cold tho and really far from kitchen (we are DIY food/drink, had planned to use the venue's steam and salad tables etc).

The place we have has a 200 indoor capacity and we invited 125...so hopefully we are good if #'s get restricted. There are a lot of windows we can open as well as the double doors, and a huge covered patio out back. We have a few key people unfortunately who both refuse to get vaxxed or wear masks...we are very frustrated but haven't told any of them not to come yet (there is one couple who started yelling at us/sending crazy texts/emails by the very idea of us gently suggesting vax or masks...they were uninvited).

I will note tho that I work as a musician (including weddings) and things, even outdoors, are starting to get cancelled/postponed again for the next couple months, or now require proof of vax.

We are having it at a private room with a capacity of 150. I think we might only have 75 and believe me I’m good with that number. If we have masks we have masks. The restaurant owner said due to Covid we’ll talk a couple of weeks before the wedding. Doesn’t look good, but hopefully we can get married at the church and that’s it if it comes to that.

Same boat here. We are moving forward as is too. As others have mentioned we just do not want to reschedule a 3rd time. We have a headcount of 50 so it’s going to be a micro wedding and the ceremony is outside with cocktail and reception inside. However 95% are vaccinated and we asked the ones who aren’t to rapid test prior. It’s going to be a beautiful day no matter what and the intimate feel of close friends and family will be wonderful. If the worst happens again I’m a month, we will survive and just count our losses and elope. I already grieved this once - trying to stay positive and go with the flow Smiley smile Sending good vibes out. To the universe for us all ☮️💙. I hope all our special days, whenever and however they may be, are happy and beautiful memories. 🙏🏻🎉
