Anyone has some great tips? My wedding is in May 11, 2024 and I’m doing everything by myself.

Plan with your partner. You have equal responsibility for building your lives together and this is your first project.

We got engaged February 2023. Our wedding is in may 2024…he wasn’t ready to talk about the wedding so I did all the planning…but I told him I rather get everything paid for rather than wait till 3 months prior to the wedding. it’s hectic but it’s relieving at the same time knowing I’m almost done purchasing the decorations and what is needed.. by 4 months from now everything should be paid for.

As long as you get the venue and catering locked, everything else is way less stressful (in my opinion) and can slowly plan out. Good luck!

Thank you!! Yeah the venue was stressful than I thought but a privately owned venue is better!!

I would encourage you to re-engage your partner. Allowing him to walk away 1 month into your engagement while you do the work is a risky behavioral pattern. You also should not expect that he work on your timeline. Enjoy your engagement if you've booked your venue! To get less anxious, use the WW timeline to plan your next steps on a calendar. Your vendors will give you their payment schedules. There's actually a lot more to wedding planning and you will need each other. I didn't buy any decor.

Yeah it is, but he wasn’t ready to do the planning…he said he’ll talk about it once he is ready.. after about a month of putting things together I started letting him know why I’m doing it to be less stressful in the end. Which, he started coming along slowly in March and April. Other than that… the big things which is catering, dj, photographer, bartenders, alcohol and xtra chairs are the only concerns left.

Hi! As silly as this may sound Tik Tok has been super helpful for idea growing and organization for me! There are a ton of brides that share their DIY projects and tips to plan a perfect wedding. I initially used Pinterest to explore and figure out my taste and ideas but seeing other brides on tik tik show Cricut tricks for invitations or even dollar tree hacks for centerpieces has been a godsend. It's how I learned to make a separate email address for just wedding vendors (and in the future to use for family shared things), a google shared drive of vendor contracts and guest list for me and my groom to edit and view, and how to create a go-to binder for your day of. Hope this has helped!!

It takes a team , if that isn’t your fiancΓ© then don’t be shy to ask for help . My fiancΓ© and I are planning our own wedding as well from top to bottom and yes it is very stressfull but we have put together a team such as our close family members / the people in our household in charge of task . This will take a bit of the load and stress off your shoulders .
    Good luck and congrats

There a lot of "hidden fees" that aren't listed for vendors. For example my venue doesn't do anything so my caterer has put extra charges for staying longer and cleaning up which wasn't on the original estimate we got along with a charge for throwing away garbage.
Venue is the top priority but always ask what they do and don't do. And know that weddings are expensive and you'll most likely go over budget as it's hard to budget for the unknown. We had a lot of unexpected add-ons and are way over budget. If we could do it over again we would have chosen a cheaper venue that did it all, E.G. tables, linens, food, alcohol, and etc.

It's going to be hard but you and your finacè can do it! Just know that y'all will have a beautiful wedding and all be ok! Smiley smile

Thank you so much… our venue is $3500 with a $500 deposit.. no hidden fees. self planning for my own wedding πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ 1

It’s privately owned. There’s no hidden fee to decorate the day before and during the wedding.. flat rate. I hired a bartender that I know, food wise..they adjusted the contact because my mother in law is cooking and I’m paying a family friend to cook, there’s no bathroom so I have to rent a bathroom trailer. She knows a DJ, I’m hiring a photographer that I know. I started buying the decorations online. I also started buying the liquors as well… the beers and wine will be the day before the wedding. My wedding is in May 2024.

It’s stressful now but it will be less stressful by January.

I'm skipping party favors. I'm doin most of planning as well, we have about 50 guests, we are also doing the cooking (taco bar) since it will be wedding on a budget, and I will be doing all decorations. we got engaged in Feb., and getting married in October, and my fiancΓ© stress every time I bring wedding related thing, lol. So I'm the one browsing ideas and all that cause I'm the one who know how to, he will help with making if I need it and putting things up, but I trust no one , Hahahaha. So I decided party favor was not that important on list. Prioritize what is important to you, not what others had at wedding, just pick what you want to focus on, other wise your budgets will go way off. Don't start with a debt for few hours of partying. Congratulations!!

In my Amazon baskets is nice complete disposable kit of 2 size plates, utensils, cups and napkins to match. I will place orders when I make up my mind about colors. Etsy would be good place to order party favors if your budget allow it. I will be having a candy bar instead, that is the party favors , LOLOL.. everybody love candy and I will have sweets on table with the wedding cake possibly or separate.
