I absolutely LOVE the Secrets Resorts, their properties are fabulous and have great service. As far as Cozumel goes, if you are more interested in a pool vs. beaches, then yes, Cozumel can be a nice option. The beaches there are not that great, but they are great if you like to snorkel or scuba dive because they have a huge reef surrounding the island.

Hi Crystal, Congratulations on your engagement! My name is Kelly Burnett and I am owner and travel expert of Travel by Kelly. Cozumel is a great choice, I love it there and your right, I do find it to be more remote and romantic feel than some of the other bigger resort areas in Mexico. The Secrets is a beautiful resort, it has a very peaceful and tranquil feel. This resort is very quiet however every day there is volleyball both on the beach and in the pool, dance lessons, and Zumba or yoga classes. They have Spanish lessons, crafts. There are evening shows, the Mayan show was AWESOME. Of course you can always go into town to do a little shopping and take a snorkel trip which is amazing. The beach is actually quite nice at this resort as Cozumel is not known for it's long sandy beaches because it really is surrounded by coral reef. I'm not sure this is much help, but we are having our wedding at Secrets Aura Cozumel in May! Have never been there either, but I adore the wedding planner (Patti). We are very excited!

I'm a teacher too! AND we're going to Secrets Silversands in Riviera Maya for our honeymoon!! So, I can't help you but I'm so glad you like the Secrets brand and that you loved Riviera Maya!
