Seating chart help!

Alexandra, on April 18, 2024 at 2:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 1

I am so confused about how to handle my seating charts. The way my venue is set up, there are twelve tables of twelve in the main ballroom, and there is a sunporch attached to the ballroom with additional tables of 8. The way I have it set up now, all of my friends (high school and college friends, which includes the maid of honor and best man, and officiant) and my cousins are all in the sunroom. I feel like it would be nicer to have the bridal party in the main room but I just can't figure out how to make it work without dividing common groups of people to be dispersed into random tables. What do you think are the rules in this regard?

As long as those seated in the sunroom aren't setup to feel like they're isolated from the rest of the group, I don't think there are any rules. Is there space to seat everyone in the main room? Is the sunroom connected to the main room, or are there doors/hallways that section it off from the main room? I'm curious about speeches and first dance and such - would everyone in both rooms be able to see and hear what's going on for those events?
