sd wedding reception on budget

Ivy, on January 3, 2024 at 1:11 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9
Our budget would be $500 for the wedding reception decorations. What would you prioritize ? Table centerpieces for guest tables or decor just for the sweetheart table? I am not from the area but we are doing the reception there because my fiance’s family is there. So I would like to rent decorations. Does anyone have recommendations for decor rentals ? TIA!

You can do some pretty but inexpensive centerpieces with candles and some greenery. I think I’d splurge a little more on the sweetheart table, since that’s a focal point. But don’t have a huge disparity of super fancy sweetheart table and plain tables.

I would prioritize the guest tables since there are many more of them and it will make a far bigger impact. When I see sweetheart tables at weddings, even high end weddings, there are no over the top backdrops, it’s really just a table for two centrally located. And since the table is small you don’t need a big centerpiece. If you’re on a budget it’s the first thing I’d cut.

I’d also check out Costco for inexpensive florals, rental places, or thrift shops, Facebook Marketplace etc. for second hand items.

How many tables are there going to be? You're gonna want to make sure there isn't too much contrast between tables so that no one feels slighted or anything. You can go a little bit more elaborate for the sweetheart table (ex: put a fun statement runner down for yours [etsy has ones with sequins and stuff], but ditch runners for everyone else and do the same floral arrangement and candles for each one [smaller tends to be cheaper, so maybe consider bud vases?] and the same tablecloths [just use the venue ones]). Also, Something Borrowed Blooms rents out fake flowers (silk), and they do centerpieces (some were only like $30!!!). Maybe do a small arrangement for each table, then add some candles

Of course! You should be able to filter it to be just centerpieces

You can also check out "kits" of decor that previous married couples sell in places like Facebook marketplace.

Ok! I’m gonna see if maybe I purchase some of those kits and have my in-laws hang onto them so that we can go down there
