Sandals Royal Caribbean vs. Sandals Ocho Rios

I've been to Sandals Ocho Rios and I guess I'm in the minority, but I didn't like Jamaica. It's VERY unsafe. Choose the other option. There are so many other better places to go in the Caribbean other than Jamaica. I used to work for a major airline for 23 years and I've been all over the Caribbean and Jamaica just isn't a safe place to go. Other people may disagree with me but that's my 2 cents. You can't leave the resort, it's totally unsafe.

We just went to RC in May. Amazing experience. We went off the resort by ourselves and didn't have any trouble. We had a basic room but they still brought us breakfast, wine, champagne, etc. We've already booked our return trip.

I went on vacation to the Riu in Ocho Rios. It's literally next door to Sandals. I don't know much about Sandals but the Riu was awesome and all inclusive! We had a shuttle take us to and from the hotel.

I loved Jamaica. We stayed on ocho rios at the couples resort. Unlike sandals resorts, couple includes 2 excursions with your stay. We did dunns river falls and a sunset catamaran booze cruise. Super fun.

@MrsPotts Thanks for the awesome feedback. I appreciate it. When you stayed there, did the airplane noise bother you because the resort is so close to the airport? That's one thing I'm worried about. I think we might stay in just a basic room because that's what fits in our budget... hopefully the experience would still be amazing.

@Emma S. thanks for the feedback!! We will stay in a basic room as well because that's what fits in our budget. Is there anything you didn't like about being in the basic room? Do they still bring breakfast & champagne no matter what or just because it was your honeymoon? Thanks!!

We had neighbors who got those things and they were not on their honeymoon. Nothing we didn't like. Best thing we did the whole trip was scuba diving! We got certified there, and it was the most amazing thing we've ever done.

I loved Jamaica. You can't go wrong with Sandals. I went to Ochi. We had a blast.

Only drawback to Ochi is that the resort is split by a road. We stayed seaside which is the way to go. But the nicer rooms with butler service are the hillside. The Hop runs every 15 minutes but H and I very rarely went hillside because all the good restaurants are seaside.
