Sandals Bahamas: Nassau vs. Great Exuma

Melisa, on July 27, 2016 at 8:49 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

My fiance and I would like to go to the Bahamas for our honeymoon, but are trying to decide between whether to stay at Grand Bahamian or Emerald Bay. Thanks!

I chatted with a Sandals rep when we were considering the Bahamas. She told me that Emerald Bay was more the relaxation site (i.e., not a lot of activities/entertainment), and Royal Bahamian is more the entertainment spot if you are like me and get bored sitting on a beach all day. Royal Bahamian is also right in Nassau, so you can go to the straw market, for example. Nassau isn't the most exciting city, but it offers some opportunity to venture off the resort.

That all comes with the caveat that this is what the rep told me. Maybe others have been there and can help more. Good luck!

There are usually boats that ferry people between the islands for a very small fee. If I could confirm that transportation option, I would stay at the quieter resort and ferry to the action. But that's me.

I would go with Emerald Bay. It's a very intimate, romantic resort.

Our honeymoon is booked for the Royal Bahamian and we have signed up for a bunch of excursions! Can't wait.

We were dead set on the Bahamas. I really really wanted to go to Exuma so we could swim with the pigs. Ha but then I was looking at all the extra tours and saw they were seriously lacking. We then looked into Nassau and saw they did offer more tours.

But then for kicks I decided to look into Jamaica and saw they had TONS to do so we booked at sandals Jamaica.
