Sandals Alternatives for Nice Honeymoon Resort?

Same, on November 8, 2018 at 9:27 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 8

We're 191 days out and are really looking to book our honeymoon. Everything is listing around 4 as the average to spend on a honeymoon, which is still more than I'd personally like to spend. When you take into account airfare from the Midwest, we're looking at $5,000 ($1,600 of which is airfare) for us to honeymoon at a Sandals and that just seems too high.

Has anyone had good experiences at a similar style all-inclusive resort? I would love to hear your experiences! We're open to just about anything but Mexico and South America.

I would suggest reaching out to a travel agent. We got a package deal including airfare and an all inclusive resort to Mexico for $4000. We paid an extra $800 for travel insurance. I can't give info about where and which resort because its a surprise from FH so those are the only details I know. They had other price point options as well. We used AAA, but I believe Costco also has travel packages.

Albeit not a resort, you could always do a cruise! My FH and I are doing a Mexican Rivierai cruise out of New Orleans with Carnival. We got a balcony room, which cost about 1500!

We’ve looked at that but I really do t want to do a cruise. All the people jammed on a boat, worrying about port when on an excursion, seasickness, germs... I’m really trying to be into it for a honeymoon for cost, but I’m having a really hard time being open to it.

Go to costcotravel.com and they have a lot of the packages listed there to look through. They have lots of different types of packages, some have all inclusive resorts and there are some that are value packages if you want to save some money.

We went to Liberty 🗽 Travel 🧳 and had a great experience.

Ultimately we decided to go to Saint Lucia 🇱🇨

I would also check out Groupon.

I also agree looking into a travel agent! For us that just really helped us narrow down what we wanted to do because there are so many stinking options. We are going to Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica (they have other resorts in Jamaica) and it was cheaper than what Sandals would have been and in my opinion, even more all inclusive. We are flying Southwest & I was able to pay for that (aside from taxes and fees) with my credit card points so that helped save us some money!

I would also agree with looking into a travel agent. We just booked our honeymoon today, through a travel agent. We are going to Punta Cana and for both of us all inclusive it will be around $2,800.
