Sand ceremony in Hawaii

Hi!
We want to do a sand ceremony with sand from our respective areas we grew up in. Is it legal to bring sand (real sand) into Hawaii (Oahu). We haven't been able to find anything definitive.
Thanks! Hoping someone may kbow or have better luck!

This is such a sweet idea!
I tried to search for the answer to this for you and came across lots of rules against taking Hawaiian sand away, but nothing about bringing external sand in. I would recommend that you reach out to your officiant to inquire about whether they have any further information about this?
Another thing to consider is that if you are planning on bringing the 'mixed' sand back home with you, that might cause some trouble for you. There will be no way of proving that the sand you are bringing home didn't originate from Hawaii and you don't want to lose something sentimental like this on your journey home.
