San Francisco Ideas

Tamera, on September 24, 2019 at 11:39 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 4
We booked our honeymoon flights! We are going to Hawaii, and since we are coming from North Carolina, we have a long layover in San Francisco on the way there. We are spending an afternoon and night, and flying to Hawaii in the morning.
Does anyone have any suggestions of things to do? Or places to eat/go? Preferably convenient to the airport or public transportation since we don't plan to rent a car.

Are you staying close enough to the airport to take BART (local commuter train) from the airport (or nearby; maybe take a Lyft from your hotel to the San Bruno or Millbrae station) into the city? That will be your best bet without a car, since the airport is quite far from the city.

If you can access BART, take it to Powell Street and and walk all around Union Square. Plenty to see, do, and eat there.

If you are flying into SFO, you can access BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) right from the airport. Maggie is correct, take the train to Powell Street station, and there are lots of things to do in that part of town. Another is to jump on a cable car (right there at Union Square), and ride it downhill, all the way to the end, and you can hit Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. Lots of fun, and really great food!! Enjoy!!

Haven't decided where to stay yet, but was hoping to use the train to get around. I have never been there, so I have no idea! But we are flying in and out of SFO, so that sounds like a good option.
