Rustic Elegant Venues near Northern nj

Nixsy, on June 22, 2019 at 10:22 PM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 11

Hi Everyone!

I am in the search of finding the perfect venue for my wedding. This will be for June 2021 and I am having some difficulty finding a venue that I really like. I am near the Montclair,NJ area so ideally I am looking into venues that are no more than an hour away. I am also open to PA and NY I just haven't seen anything that is different and unique but still in the rustic elegance theme. I am looking to having an outdoor ceremony and I am open to having an indoor reception or tented. Please if anyone can share some venues that fit this I would great appreciate it! The venues that I have already looked into so far: Perona Farms, Crossed Keys Estate, and Stone House at Stirling Ridge.

    Hi Nixsy-

I recommend the Bishop Farmstead in Southampton, NJ. It is in Southern NJ but it’s easy to get to and just over an hour. I originally was looking a place close to NYC, Northern NJ but in the end this was the best venue for us. They have a beautiful outside area for the ceremony. A separate inside/outside area for cocktail hour and the reception inside the barn. They are finishing up major renovations including- adding an elevator to the barn, air conditioning, string lighting and updating bathrooms. JAM Catering is the exclusive cater. They are all about fresh ingredients, farm to table and they also have other venues in NJ and PA.

    Hi Nixsy-

Have you looked into Bear Brook Valley? It's in Fredon NJ (Sussex County). I am having my wedding there in April and have nothing but positive things to say about the venue so far. The coordinator Katrina is amazing and we were so impressed with our tasting.

    Nixsy,

There are so many great venues in Northern NJ but I highly recommend reaching out to Waterloo Village in Stanhope, NJ. I will be getting married there this September and they have made the entire wedding planning process a breeze. The venue itself is rustic, romantic, surrounded by nature, historic and overall just very peaceful. They have several areas for the ceremony such as their little chapel, a gazebo, secret garden and more. The Meeting Hall where the reception is held can accommodate up to 200 guests and has barn tables with mismatched chairs, large fireplaces, wooden bars and stools, wooden beams; it's adorable. The staff there is extremely accommodating, Maria and her team know what they are doing and what to make sure the entire process is relaxing and fun. Jeffrey A. Miller Catering provides all the food and services and pride themselves on farm-to-table and making everything by hand. We did our food tasting, which was four hours of pure bliss, and I cannot tell you how excited we are for our upcoming wedding. Oh did I mention that they include decor and table settings and centerpieces? Check out one of their upcoming open houses, I promise you won't regret it!

Hi Nixy - I second Ashley's suggestion of Waterloo Village. It is the perfect mix of rustic/elegant - its charming and has so much character. They are also SUPER easy to work with and their all-inclusive packages make planning a breeze. The food is also amazing - their exclusive caterer - JAM Catering is farm-to-table, so all the food is fresh and they have great options that you won't see at most venues - it is a foodie's dream!

I have friends getting married at Memorytown in the Poconos, PA in a few months. I haven't been and I have no idea what their experience has been like so far (I'm more the groom's friend than the bride's and he hasn't done much lol), but it's worth looking into! I know they are having an outdoor ceremony by the lake, and indoor reception in the barn.

Check out Jack’s Barn. We went a wedding there last year and it was a very cool feel! It was a vegan wedding and they allowed for outside caterers for the occasion.
