One option is pretty exhaustive but it's what we're doing for our guests since we haven't locked down our wedding guest list yet. Go to your current guest list and duplicate each entry but delete a letter (e.g. John Smith, John Smit). That additional person would be a placeholder that is invited to the wedding. Once the engagement party is over, you can delete the old name and add the missing letter to the placeholder name. So the old John Smith file is gone, and John Smit gets changed to John Smith.

It's pretty time consuming, but it ensures that when your guest goes on your website and fill in their name for the event, they'll only see the event at that time and not the other. It also removes the confusion if they rsvp and they see two of their names.

Hi Melissa! When you add the RSVP page to your wedding website, wedding guests will be able to RSVP to every event they are on the list for!

In your case I'd recommend removing your engagement party guests from the "wedding" guest list until after the engagement party - then after the event you can do a mass action to add all the engagement party guests back to the wedding guest list!!
