Not that particular boat, but I have done RCI twice before and loved it. We are doing FOS for our honeymoon - 7 night cruise. Very much looking forward to it. Smiley smile I found that the service was better than carnival and overall experience was great. If you are on a major budget though, Carnival is not a bad alternative. But if money not an issue comparitively, RCI is much more worth it. We are also using RCI as our honeymoon registry. Any gifts that are purchased that are RCI specific, they will deliver to the stateroom for us ;-)

I am doing my wedding and honeymoon on a Carnival Curise. I prefer Royal Caribbean service and atmosphere better, but Carnival is more economical so more guests could attend. We are doing a 7 day cruise to Mexico, Belize, Honduras, and Grand Cayman. I have heard great things about the Oasis. My mom just got back from a cruise and loved it...Pros of a cruise- You unpack and you dont worry about anything! You see many ports ina weeks times and all your food is planned out for you.

Cons- alcohol is extra as is excursions.

I love cruises and always gie them a 10...it is what you make of it!

If you want to eat at Speciality Dining, make sure you book in advance, also look into to things to do at the different ports.

Smiley & Ashley: that sounds great! But donno am a bit worried now.. I've been surfing the internet and i found lotsa chocking stories about people disappearances and murders going on board.. in fact no single cruise line is not mentioned even Disney has part in it, the major concern for me is those cruises/ ships has no certain law to control them or the events happening on them, and Mexico seems the worst spot as most of the crimes and disappearances took place on cancun and cozumel Smiley sad

I think that any vacation you go on has risk of these incidents. My recommendation is never become intoxicated beyond self control...on excursions go through the cruise line- dont use outside vendors. and just be aware of your surroundings. I would still recommend a cruise!

    Nana, Try www.cruisecritic.com

You can find out anything and everything on cruising, including meeting people who will be on YOUR cruise (in the roll call section). Sometimes these people put together great excursions at greatly reduced prices.

Enjoy your trip. Nothing like a cruise!

I've been on several cruises including on the Oasis' sister ship Allure. It was pretty incredible. Fantastic entertainment, good food, friendly staff. Just don't get suckered into buying a beverage card..it's never worth it. Oh, and make sure to book all the shows/specialty dining options you want prior to boarding, or as soon as you get on the ship - they book up fairly quickly.

@Amanda: thank you for your great advice, 2 more question though:

you think 7 nights cruise is enough or shall we go for more?

    and what was your destination?

When you consider the number of cruise ships out on the water, and the fact that they carry **** new people each week - 1 cruise ship can carry over 150,000 passengers a year, and there are dozens of big ships sailing all over the world.

Crime or Tragedy aboard a cruise ship often seems to garner a lot of media attention, but you have to consider the vast number of people each year on cruise ships who don't have any problems. I bet crime happens in the Magic Kingdom also, but who would refuse to take their family there? Be aware of your surroundings and do your best to stay out of stupid situations, and you'll be like 99.9% of all other cruisers and have problems at all. Smiley smile

I love cruises. I am getting married while in port in the bahamas on Halloween. We are having a cruise wedding and all the guest will be going on the cruise. We are using Royal Caribbean but doing Monarch of the Seas. I have been on RCI and NCL ships and my favorite is NCL but FH favorite is RCL. I have been on 3 cruises and I do the Crusie Critic everytime. You can talk to other people who will be on your cruise and they even set up a meeting so you can all meet and then we got invites to go meet the Captain and go into there cockpit or whatever you want to call where they drive the ship. It was pretty cool. It is cheaper to book your excursions outside of the cruise ship. I found great people and places using tripadvisor and we had the best guide when in Belize City to bring us cave tubing. He even found a tarantula hole and pulled it out and put it on his head. I am not sure your ports but if you do Costa Maya I found Maya Chan beach and that place is paradise.
