Room Block Advice??

Sarah, on June 14, 2020 at 1:02 PM Posted in Arizona Planning 0 3
My fiance is from Minnesota and we are planning on getting married in Phoenix in September 2020. We are anticipating needing 10-15 hotel rooms for our family and friends. We are hesitant in getting a room block since COVID is unpredictable, what are your thoughts? Anything we should know before reserving a room block?

Hi Sarah! I'd reach out and ask what their room block policies are, and whether any potential discounts for your guests would outweigh anything you could potentially owe them!

If you'll be on the hook for un-booked rooms, I'd see if the individual cancellation policy is more flexible for your guests. Especially since your wedding is coming up fairly soon!

We made our room block through Hilton Chandler. I would highly recommend checking out the Hilton policies, at the time we booked they were doing zero liability room blocks so the couple doesn’t owe anything if rooms don’t fill up. I’m not sure if it’s dependent on the hotel you book with but might be worth checking out. Hope this is helpful!
