Riviera Maya, Mexico for honeymoon???

As far as I can tell, Alexa, that is a huge tourist part of Mexico. Cancun, Riviera Maya, and Tulum are all within the same picture on the map. I'm sure there is some violence and crime in the area, but no more so than in any other tourist spot in the world.

I've also heard that as long as you stay in/on the resort grounds, you should be fine. My sibling went there once for spring break and they said that's what they were told and they had a grand ol' time.

My family said the same thing when we booked ours for Riviera Maya too!! As long as you stay on the resort and if you do activities off the resort then book it with your resort you will be fine! Have so much fun

I was in Cancun over Christmas and it was just fine since we didn't venture off of our resort. The violence has taken place in areas that you likely wouldn't visit anyhow (bars & strip clubs that locals frequent). But just to be extra safe, stick to your resort.

Mexico is safe as long as you stay in the tourist areas! I'm getting married in Cancun and actually met FH there! Mexico is a beautiful country full of a lot of wonderful people. You just have to act right and you'll be fine. Things like staying in tourist areas, not getting too drunk when you're off the resort, don't fight with people, don't do anything illegal and don't go flashing money around and no one will bother you.

Have a great honeymoon! I suggest going to visit the Tulum Ruins your resort will probably offer a tour there!
