Required centerpieces?

Erin, on September 9, 2022 at 3:02 PM Posted in Planning 1 10

I'm researching potential florists and one promising one told me they can't be my florist because they take on the entirety of wedding flowers. My fiance and I were just going to have fake garlands with fairy lights so we can reuse them. Is this normal for florists to require certain things?

Yes, most florists will prohibit DIY florals from being incorporated, because they don't want it to be mistaken for their work or tagged to their business.

Yes there are florists that will not let you use fake florals or any other florist as it could be confused for their work.

Can the lights be added above and beyond what the florist does? Also, I was trying to figure out if a decor group works alongside (or in addition to) a florist. It would seem both of those teams could work in opposition to each other -- in a mild sense.

Yes, different florists have different rules of what they will take on unfortunately. It’s their problem if they want to refuse someone - it’s not on you.

One of the floral companies we contacted said they’ll “only take on clients with a minimum budget of $15,000” Yikes! 😱 We politely responded thanks for getting back but that was over our budget. They actually gave us a kind reply and provided recommendations of florists more in our budget!

Wow. that florist must have some high-end customers. At first I thought of the whole wedding budget, not just the florals. It is nice they had some recommendations for other florists.

Indeed! I thought they’d be stuck up with that high of a minimum so the recommendations were a pleasant surprise! 😂

I just had a florist get back to me with a $35,000 minimum because our date is considered a summer/holiday weekend.

This must be a royal wedding. How much were they proposing to do for that?

I hope you find prices much better.

    😱😱😱😱 Whoa!

If you’re cool with me asking, what area of the country or state are you getting married in?
