Renting land to have a do-it-yourself backyard wedding- Connecticut

I would look for local airbnbs or VRBOs, if your county/city/town allows events to be held at these kind of properties. In my experience, most don't and if they do it's for much smaller events (20 people or less). And they have a ton of requirements for what can be brought in. We toured several venues that allowed outside catering.

Be sure to price this option out before signing a contract. Keep in mind that with a vacant lot/land you will need to bring in electricity, bathrooms, water, etc. All of this could potentially add up to much more than a traditional venue that allows you to use your own caterer. I once priced out a simple backyard reception and it would have been just as much if not more than renting a venue once you factor in all the rentals. Oh and you would need liability insurance as well. Lots to consider. Wishing you the best in finding your perfect venue!
