So I’m an out of town bride trying to plan a relatively inexpensive welcome reception/rehearsal dinner. We are spending a ton of money on the reception so id like to keep the welcome around $2500 for approximately 50 people. Any suggestions? No Italian as that is was our reception will be

    Hey there, Jessica!

Where will the majority of the guests be staying for the wedding? Is it somewhere different from where you and your FS are staying? Do either have a bar/restaurant where you could host a rehearsal/welcome dinner? This could be handy for guests who have traveled in for the celebrations Smiley smile

We are local, but we are doing just pizza and beer at a local place. Is that an option? Or I would do something at a bar and you and your FH pay for apps and maybe a round or 2 of drinks and if they want more they can pay.

$2500 for 50 people is a pretty healthy budget since that comes out to $50 per person. A lot of restaurants have private rooms and you can probably find somewhere that will provide a pre-set menu or buffet for $30-40 per person plus gratuity. Another option would be to find out the cost for reserving a small meeting/ballroom at the hotel where most of your guests are staying and having a meal catered.

I live in Houston and getting married in Virginia (where I am from). We are doing dinner rehearsal at a local Chicago style pizza place. Yes, I know you said no Italian however, the pizza shop also does Chicago styled foods too! There was a package for us that was $500 and could feed about 50 people. So my suggestion would be look at local mom and pop shops!

Check Fremont street restaurants. they have some pretty good places that are really nice. I personally like Carson's Kitchen on Fremont. its really cute and the food is pretty good as well. also in Downtown Summerlin Public School 702 is good.
